What is the ACE?
The Automotive Centre of Excellence (ACE) at Docklands is a dedicated automotive training and industry focused facility. Stage II of the facility was launched in 2012 and introduced new workshop spaces, a world-class vehicle and engine testing facility as well as a purpose-built auto electrical lab supplied by Training Systems Australia.
The centre has achieved numerous environmental awards since its inauguration, including the Vic Urban Award of Excellence and a 5-Star Green Star Rating by the Green Building Council of Australia.
The ACE supports the progress of the automotive industry into the 21st century and has been developed in consultation with the automotive industry. For this reason, the ACE is designed to:
- increase innovation capabilities within the industry
- develop a better, more integrated approach to training, research and development
- provide highly-skilled staff trained in the latest technology
- offer centralised training to allow resource sharing and the ability to constantly update technology
Kangan Institute at the ACE
The Automotive Centre of Excellence (ACE) is a valued part of Kangan Institute, one of Victoria's largest speciality training providers.
Kangan Institute trains tens of thousands of students annually, and is known for the employability of its graduates. Specialist training facilities such as the Automotive Centre of Excellence offer Kangan Institute students a professional, hands-on training environment.
Classes are taught by leading professionals employed within industry. Students benefit from a dynamic curriculum ensuring the skills gained are in-demand by employers.
