Centre of Fashion

Exciting developments have taken place in Kangan Institute's Centre of Fashion.

The $4.6 million State of the Art 4 - star environmental facility is operational and was officially launched in May 2008.

Centre of Fashion Interior

With more space and a brand new design, the Centre of Fashion @ Richmond has a permanent catwalk, ideal for showcasing students' work. It features areas devoted to millinery, textile testing, CAD CAM, garment construction and pattern making rooms which simulate industry workrooms. The Centre of Fashion caters for a number of training and theory classrooms and a large retail training centre, as well as shop front windows.

The new Centre of Fashion @ Richmond has a central location placing it close to Melbourne's popular fashion shopping strips of Bridge Road, Swan Street, Chapel Street, Toorak Road, High Street and the Melbourne City district. It is also geographically located in a textile and fashion zone which is home to many of the biggest fashion houses in Australia and where associated manufacturing industries are found. The inner Melbourne, West Melbourne and South-east Melbourne areas have the highest percentage of clothing linked businesses in Australia e.g. fabrics and accessories.
