Credit for prior study
What is Recognition of Prior Learning?
Recognition of Prior Learning, or RPL, acknowledges what you've already learnt from work experience, life experience (e.g. community work, hobbies) or other courses or qualifications (e.g. formal or informal training).
RPL matches the skills and knowledge you already have against the course or qualification you are doing, or intend to do. It may shorten the length of your course, as you will not have to repeat work or study you can show you are competent in.
What is Recognition of Current Competency?
Recognition of Current Competency, or RCC, acknowledges your current competency in a unit or course. RCC usually applies to specific industries where proof of current competency is a requirement for continued employment or licence renewal.
For more information about RPL, please visit the Skills Recognition page
What is a Credit Transfer?
Credit Transfers may be offered to those who have completed an equivalent module or competency at another educational institution. You must be enrolled in the course for which you are seeking the Credit Transfer. You must provide the original statement of attainment to support your application. If successful, you will be credited with the specific module, and will not have to study it again, thus reducing the length of your study.
