This VET program:
- provides participants with the knowledge and skills to achieve competencies that will enhance their employment prospects in aviation or aviation-related industries.
- enables participants to gain a recognised qualification and to make informed choices in relation to vocation and career paths.
Sample Modules (Units 1 - 2)
- Interpret occupational health and safety practices in aviation
- Plan and organise work activities
- Apply quality standards applicable to maintenance processes
- Interpret and use industry manuals and specifications
- Complete industry documentation
- Perform basic hand skills, standard trade practices and fundamentals
- Apply self in the aviation maintenance environment
- Perform routine removal and installations of miscellaneous aircraft electrical hardware/components
- Fabricate aircraft electrical looms and harnesses
- Use electrical test equipment to perform basic electrical tests
- Repair/modify aircraft non-primary structural sheetmetal components
