This VET program:

  • provides participants with the knowledge and skills to achieve competencies that will enhance their employment prospects in the engineering or engineering-related industries.
  • enables participants to gain a recognised credential and to make informed choices in relation to vocation and career paths.

  • Perform basic machining processes
  • Apply basic fabrication techniques
  • Use computers for engineering-related work activities
  • Produce basic engineering sketches and drawings
  • Apply basic computational principles in engineering work
  • Use hand tools
  • Use power tools/hand held operation
  • Apply electrotechnology principles in an engineering work environment
  • Use basic engineering concepts to plan the manufacture of engineering components
  • Handle engineering materials
  • Produce basic engineering components and products using fabrication and machining
  • Form, bend and shape engineering materials
