This VET program:

  • provides participants with the knowledge and skills to achieve competencies that will enhance their employment prospects in the horticulture or horticulture-related industries.
  • enables participants to gain a recognised credential and to make informed choices in relation to vocation and career paths.

  • Renovate grassed areas
  • Plant trees and shrubs
  • Treat plant pests, diseases and disorders
  • Pot up plants
  • Tend nursery plants
  • Maintain properties and structures
  • Operate basic machinery and equipment
  • Perform above ground pruning
  • Assist with landscape construction work
  • Determine basic properties of soil and/or growing media
  • Maintain pressurised irrigation systems
