VET at Kangan Institute

Why choose Kangan Institute?

All students who complete VET in Schools programs with Kangan Institute have access to a Guaranteed Pathway at the Institute.

Kangan Institute's VET programs:

  • provide students with the skills and ability to achieve competencies which will enhance their employment and further training prospects
  • provide students with "work ready" knowledge and skills applicable to a variety of career paths in their chosen industry
  • shorten the duration of the apprenticeship program after Year 12 through credit recognition and articulation arrangements

Kangan Institute trainers are industry experienced with an in-depth knowledge of their specialist areas. Our training facilities feature up-to-date commercial equipment to ensure every student can train in an industry-standard environment.

Kangan Institute also provides scholarships to the highest achieving student in each field of study to help with further training costs while at the Institute.

Delivery options

School and Kangan Institute partnerships may work in the following ways:

  • Shared delivery
  • Delivery on behalf of the school by Kangan Institute
  • Delivery by the school of the whole program, under the auspice of Kangan Institute

Schools can negotiate with Kangan Institute to deliver components of the program, where the school can demonstrate access to suitable staffing and resources. Kangan Institute may also auspice the school to gather evidence for assessment or to conduct assessment of the components delivered by the school.

A school in partnership with Kangan Institute is not required to register as a Training Organisation, because any delivery by the school will be auspiced by Kangan Institute.

A school may arrange for Kangan Institute to deliver and assess the entire program.

Schools are responsible for enrolling their students with the VCAA and for entering student results on the Victorian Assessment Software System (VASS) according to VCE timelines.
