About the Department
The Built and Natural Environments Department provides training for the building, furniture, electrical and horticulture industries, from short courses to diploma level. We customise training to suit the needs of individuals and corporate clients. All clients have access to extensive facilities and support structures to assist learning.
Kangan Institute is the largest provider of apprenticeship training in Victoria and the Built and Natural Environments Department currently has more than 750 apprentices in training.

Our staff
Our staff have industry backgrounds related to their specific delivery areas. Our staff are all qualified teacher/trainers in accordance with industry requirements.
Electrical license training/exams are conducted by qualified staff are recognised by Energy Safe Victoria. Our Greensmart trainers are HIA accredited and Energy Rater trainers are Sustainability Victoria accredited.
