Thanks to Kangan Institute, I've achieved the qualification to gain my current job as a full-time administrative officer here at Kangan Institute. This position is extremely fulfilling as I know that I can help prospective students gain the skills and the employment opportunities they desire.
I looked to Kangan Institute to begin a career just after my son started school and I was ready to join the workforce. I started with the Certificate II in Business and finished with a Diploma of Business Administration after two years of studying.
My full-time position at Kangan Institute was the result of a practical placement program that gave me the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in my chosen career path.
This year, I am beginning the next stage of my journey by undertaking the Advanced Diploma of Management on a part-time basis. This qualification offers a pathway to the Bachelor of Applied Management and the options and opportunities are endless.
Whether you are just commencing your journey, looking to re-enter the workforce or are already in the workforce and would like to enhance your career opportunities, Kangan Institute offers many training options. I thank everyone at Kangan Institute who guided me thus far and I'm looking forward to further guidance for my next journey.

The Diploma of Business Administration course incorporated two days of work experience and I received a position working for the manager of the department. Those six months of work experience helped me gain full-time employment with the department after I completed my studies.
Six years later and I am still a full-time employee of Kangan Institute and have continued my studies even further, obtaining a Diploma of Management, Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, Certificate IV in Customer Contact and the list goes on.
I believe that the work experience I did whilst studying to achieve my Diploma over six years ago helped me develop and grow as a person. The continuous help and support from my teachers whilst studying and the work experience gave me the confidence to achieve my goals.
It helped open up doors that I never expected and create new goals, which I am working towards achieving every day.

I first came to study at Kangan in 2002 when I began a part-time course in business administration. Being a migrant from India and unaware of international processes of education, I was quite nervous but keen to study.
All my fears disappeared when I found all the teachers were kind and helpful. I remember going to see my teachers afterhours to get extra help for the tasks assigned and they were always there for me.
I had my baby daughter close to finals of certificate II. My teacher Denise Saad helped me to finish and finalise one of her subjects. She assigned a special time for me to sit the test and even held my three week old daughter while I was doing my test for her.
Siew Ong, my teacher for the finance subject, released the potential in me to study accounting and encouraged me to enrol in the finance course. I really liked the small classes the close relationship I had with my teachers.
I was looking for work at the same time (in order to support my young family) and came across the position for traineeship in admin studies at Kangan Institute. My hard work and good behaviour was recognised and I was selected for the role. I haven't looked back since.
I worked for Admin Studies for about nine months under Terry McNamara. He was not just my senior but was a close friend as well. He consistently encouraged me to perform better and reach my highest potential. Renus Burke, one of the senior teachers, was always there to guide my way. I moved to Corporate Finance after nine months and I completed my traineeship and started my degree in accounting while working for the Finance department.
I was given the chance to work within various positions which strengthened my skills in many financial areas. Bill Clow, manager of Corporate Finance, has also encouraged my education and motivated other staff to rotate their roles to improve their expertise. I completed various short courses to improve my knowledge and skills under his guidance.
After working in finance for nearly three years, I became involved in my family business. I worked long hours (seven days a week for four and a half years). I completed my degree while working in the business and wanted to start my CPA studies.
My studies and work experience at Kangan Institute was a great help for me and I attribute this experience for the great success we had in the business.
Now that I have sold our business, I am back at Corporate Finance at Kangan Institute. I am working as a payroll assistant at present. To advance my career to the next level, I am now undertaking the CPA course and see myself working as a financial accountant one day.
I believe that with hard work and the right guidance, anything is possible. I have been lucky to study and work at Kangan Institute which is a great education provider and one of the best employers one could have.

I migrated from Iraq to Australia in 2002 and have lived in Melbourne ever since. I decided to change my life by going to Kangan Institute to get an education in business administration and gain a recognised qualification.
I began my education with the Certificate II in Business and continued into the Diploma of Business Administration. As a student at Kangan Institute, I found it easy to get along with all my classmates and teachers because they were easy to talk to, supportive and friendly. Till today, my classmates and I are still in contact and everyone is enjoying working in their field.
After completing my diploma studies, I worked at AMES employment to gain some work experience. This work experience was a good opportunity for me because it helped me gain a better position in my field. I have now gained a position as an Employment Consultant at Workskil in Broadmeadows.
I'm really enjoying my work and I'm looking forward to a great career in the future. I encourage everyone to start thinking about their future and to consider furthering their education to get better opportunities.

Born in an overseas country and coming from a non-English speaking background did not stop me from achieving my dream.
It had been only six months when we moved to Australia, with kids settling in school, I decided to pursue the idea of launching my career.
As Kangan Institute was easily accessible, I booked in for a student counselling session. Based upon that session, my interest and career led me to administrative duties.
The following week I attended an information session and a few weeks later I was a student at Kangan Institute. The nurturing environment, friendly teachers and supportive guidance helped me to achieve my results.
I was able to graduate with my Certificate II, III, IV and Diploma of Business Administration qualifications.
The Practical Placement component of the course provided me with the added experience I needed, as well as the assurance that I had made the right choice in studying this course at Kangan Institute.
I am one amongst many who had no studying experience in Australia. Being a full-time mum and with 10 years having passed since I had left college; to achieve a Diploma qualification has been a rewarding achievement.
I am currently a staff member at Kangan Institute with many more opportunities coming my way. I had a dark past, but now I have a very bright future. If I can do it, anyone can!
