Registration & Gowning

You must register in the gowning area - Outside seminar rooms 4 and 5

Once registered you will be given a gown and a stole if required

  • Certificate students will wear a plain black gown
  • Diploma students will wear a black gown and a stole that is black with two gold stripes
  • Advanced diploma students will wear a black gown and a stole that is black with three gold stripes

There will be refreshments available in the foyer of seminar rooms four and five (tea, coffee, finger food).

All gowns must be returned to the registration and gowning area at the conclusion of the ceremony.

Prior to leaving you will need to hand back your diploma scroll and collect your diploma / certificate. This is done in the registration and gowning area, as the scroll you are handed on stage is empty. Photographers will also be outside the gowning area for you to get photos with your family and friends in your gown - this is an additional charge.

What to wear?

Semi-Formal attire would be best to wear under your gown (thongs, sandal, t-shirts or casual attire are not recommended), remember this is your graduation photo! Please take into account that the gowns are black. When worn the gowns are open at the front and expose the lower arms. Appropriate footwear is also a must. If you would like to wear traditional dress under your gown you are more than welcome to.

Please do not leave valuables in the gowning area. Kangan Institute will not accept responsibility for loss of property.

Photography

Photography will be available before and after the event. Photos can be taken with family and friends, and will also be taken during the graduation ceremony. These will be available for purchase from Happy Medium after the event.
