Kangan Institute 457 Visa Program

Sponsors under the subclass 457 visa program are required to meet training benchmarks. This can easily be done by contributing to a recognised scholarship fund. Kangan Institute scholarship fund is approved by the Department of Immigration & Citizenship (DIAC) as a recognised scholarship fund which satisfies training Benchmark A. We can accept contributions from 457 visa program sponsors and you can make your contribution on this page.

Details of Visa 457 training benchmarks:

Requirements for a Visa 457 involve employers sponsoring the training of the local workforce to demonstrate a commitment to education.

There are two benchmarks for making such a contribution:

Training Benchmark A Training Benchmark B
Contribution by employer of at least 2% of recent payroll to an Approved Scholarship Fund or Industry Training Fund Contribution by employer of at least 1% of recent payroll to the provision of training for their employees who are Australian citizens and or permanent residents
A commitment to maintain this contribution for the term of the sponsorship (as approved) A commitment to maintain this contribution for the term of the sponsorship (as approved)

Benefits:

Do not employ Australian citizens or permanent residents Employs Australian citizens
Are recently established businesses Have a plan to implement training to their staff (who are Australian citizens or residents)
Need to fulfil obligation immediately Operate in an industry where an industry training fund is available
Would like the opportunity for financial government incentives for training
