Training solutions

Flexible learning

Flexible learning expands choice on what, when, where and how people learn. It supports different styles of learning, including e-learning. Students are able to study in a fully flexible, self-paced mode or in a mix of face-to-face and flexible (blended mode) using a variety of electronic, multimedia, on-line and paper-based resources. You can decide which mode will best suit your learners' needs.

Needs vary, so Learning Research & Design can work with you to design courses or training solutions that will offer flexibility. These solutions may include accredited or non-accredited training.

e-learning

Learning Research & Design can develop e-learning solutions with secure access to an online learning management system (LMS) through the Blackboard Learning System platform. We can facilitate the learning in this environment, or we could also train your staff how to manage the learning process. This may include:

  • developing e-learning courseware including assignments and assessments
  • managing training resources through a learning objects repository (or electronic learning resource warehouse)
  • facilitating learning through communication tools such as chat, bulletin and voice boards
  • generating reports to track student activity.

E-learning packages can be customised with branding to suit your corporate image.

Training facilities and support

What if you don't have the equipment or space to offer training? Or perhaps your training program needs someone to support the learning? We can provide these services at the Kangan Institute Craigieburn Flexible Learning Centre.

This centre offers a range of accredited programs to meet with industry needs. These programs are web-based which means that learners can access them from home or from work, or from anywhere there is internet access. And our staff are available to facilitate and support the online learning process.

'Kangan Institute has given me a realistic technical view of how the hospitality industry works. I was already working in the industry when I started studying at Kangan Institute, but the course has really stepped me up a notch.'
