Advanced Diploma of Hospitality (Commercial Cookery)

Wei Lin, China

Study at Kangan Institute to further my ability to get a job. I wanted to learn skills relevant to the industry that I aimed to get in. I researched the internet and Kangan Institute was recommended as a good provider on the Chinese Government website.

The thing I enjoyed most about my studies was working in the kitchen and making food. It was also great to meet new people and make new friends. The chef was a great teacher and he knew how to teach us.

In the future I hope to work in the kitchen as a chef/cook in a restaurant and then hopefully have my own restaurant one day.

Hospitality management was relevant to the industry as much of what I learnt in the course can be used in the future. We learnt how to do things just as they do in the real industry.

I enjoyed working in groups and learning how to work together and cooperate with others around me as we did group assignments, which also helped us learn from each other as well.

We were also taught not just from textbooks which was a big help and experience of practical work will help us get a job in hospitality and make a career out of it.

I would recommend studying here as it has great study facilities like the library and many computers with internet for research. It is also a big campus and can accommodate for areas of practical work.
