About Melbourne
Kangan Batman Institute of TAFE is located in Melbourne, the capital city of the State of Victoria. The city is culturally rich, with a population of more than 3.5 million from many different religious and ethnic backgrounds. Melbourne offers to international students an economical, safe and secure environment to live in.
Melbourne is situated on the shores of Port Phillip Bay, at the mouth of the Yarra River. It is known as a city of parks, theatres, galleries, sporting events and restaurants. The city is well laid out with an extensive network of public transport.
Melbourne's climate is very Mediterranean, with warm to hot, dry summers and cool, crisp, wet winters.
Campus Locations
Kangan Batman TAFE has five major campuses and numerous training centres. All offer bright comfortable and modern classrooms with a full range of audio/visual equipment and up-to-date computer facilities.
The Institute also provides purpose-built training facilities that gives students access to workplace simulation. Library facilities are located on each campus. Apart from traditional library facilities they also provide extensive computer facilities which include free internet access. All campuses are well serviced by public transport. Broadmeadows Campus
The main campus of the Institute is located approximately 20km from the Central Business District (CBD). It is well serviced by public transport and affordable housing. A wide-range of courses are offered at this campus including business, multimedia, Deakin degree program, information technology, ELICOS, fashion design and tourism. It is also the location of purpose built training centres for aviation, engineering and electronics, polymer engineering and hospitality. The Office of International Students is located at the Broadmeadows campus.
Richmond Campus
Located 3km from the CBD this campus houses automotive, recreation, sports development, massage and Australian sign language (AUSLAN) programs. Numerous automotive workshops are located for students to gain practical experience on this campus.
Moreland Campus
Located approximately 8km from the CBD and well serviced by public transport. Nursing and some community development programs are conducted at this campus.
Essendon Campus
Within walking distance of public transport, located approximately 10km from the CBD, this campus offers advertising courses.
Coburg Campus
Located approximately 12km from the CBD, this campus offers a wide range of automotive courses. Facilities include purpose-built training workshops.
