Kangan Aquabats win MS Megaswim trophy

A team of Kangan Batman TAFE staff won the Rotary Club of Tullamarine's Sally Ryan Perpetual Trophy for their efforts in the recent 24 hour MS Megaswim at the East Keilor Leisure Centre.
The "Kangan Aquabats" team won the trophy for their efforts in raising $1,700 for the MS Society and for swimming 78 kilometres over the 24 hours from 3.00pm Saturday to 3.00pm Sunday.
The Kangan Aquabats had staff from Broadmeadows, Moreland, Coburg, Essendon and Richmond participate in the Megaswim along with a few supporting family members.
Team member, Maree Gardiner, said the most rewarding part was raising so much money for the MS Society and the number of team members who achieved personal goals. The money raised will go to the MS Society's Go for Gold Scholarship program which aims to raise $50,000 through team sponsorships and donations.

And with the Aquabats already planning their team and tatics for next year's event it looks like there could be some tough competition ahead!
