Students organise lunch fundraiser for children's hospital
26 October 2004
Students from the Diploma of Event Management course are planning to help out the Royal Children's Hospital with a fundraising luncheon at Richards Restaurant at the Broadmeadow's campus on 16 November.
The luncheon not only donates money for the hospital it gives the students very pratical, hands-on experience in organising an event. The students will be involved in all aspects of the fundraising event from first contact with the Hospital and all the behind the scenes work, to being there on the day making sure everything runs smoothly.
The group chose the Royal Children's Hospital because of the impact it has on many families across Victoria. "Every year the Hospital helps to save the lives of young children and babies and we just wanted to give something back to them," said Stella Petra, Event Management student.
The fundraiser for the Hospital will be held on Tuesday November 16 at 11.45am and is open to the public. Seating is limited so bookings are essential. Phone 9279 2676.
