New training and assessment program ready
19 April 2005
After extensive consultation with thousands of practitioners over three years the new Certificate IV in Training and Assessment is now available.
As a key TAFE institute in the vocational, education and training sector, Kangan Batman TAFE will be implementing the new Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAA 40104) during 2005.
The new qualification replaces the Certificate IV in Assessment and Workplace Training and aims to reflect the changing environment and challenges faced by trainers, assessors and HR personnel in the workplace.
Participants will gain the knowledge and skills to develop, deliver and assess training in Registered Training Organisations, industry and community settings.
The course has 14 units and focuses on the four core fields of:
- Learning environment
- Learning design
- Delivery and facilitation
- Assessment
It replaces the current program of eight units and at this stage both qualifications will be recognised concurrently.
Information sessions
Kangan Batman TAFE has scheduled information sessions on teaching and training in vocational education and training and courses offered to support entry into the sector.
The sessions will cover the new Certificate IV in Training and Assessment and many of the frequently asked questions about the delivery of the program.
Industry representatives are invited to attend an information session to increase their understanding of the new qualification. Session details are as follows:
