Kangan Batman TAFE's 2004 Annual Report was deemed the best in its category in the Australian TAFE Marketing Association (ATMA) Awards for Excellence in Marketing.

Rosalie Staggard, Manager of Marketing and Corporate Communications and Victorian President of ATMA, accepted the award at the ceremony on Thursday October 18.

'This award recognises the wonderful efforts of former Communications Coordinator, Helen Soane, who's in London at the moment, and our graphic designer, Susan Phanphengdy,' said Rosalie.

The winning annual report was designed to convey a welcoming feeling with the use of warm tones and a format that made the report visually appealing.

The report was the final in a trilogy of annual reports focussing on the Institute's implementation of triple bottom line management and reporting.

This report was also designed to complement the Institute's Making the Connection - Social and Environmental Report 2004, which was also a finalist in the Annual Report category at the ATMA awards.

The Institute's Short Course Guide was the finalist in the Course Guide category, but narrowly missed out to a TAFE Queensland entry.

ATMA is a not-for-profit professional organisation that seeks to promote excellence in marketing within TAFE and the Vocational Education and Training (VET) sector.

The awards recognise creative and innovative strategies for marketing TAFE products and services and were judged by marketing experts in other tertiary institutions, government departments, advertising agencies and public relations companies.

Kangan Batman TAFE also was nominated for its 'What Next?' youth promotional materials, its online external newsletters - Kangan Batman to Community (KB2C) and Kangan Batman to Business (KB2B), and its internal online newsletter, K-files.
