IT & Multimedia Students Scoop State Worldskills Competition

Kangan Batman TAFE IT and Multimedia (IT & M) students have demonstrated that they are among the best in the state, after they took out six top gongs in the Statewide Worldskills Olympics on 29 October.
There were Gold, Silver and Bronze wins in the Software Applications and Web Design categories, as well as a Gold and Bronze in the PC Support section. A Bronze was also won in the IT Programming category.
Over 200 students from metropolitan, regional and rural TAFE institutes competed in the Worldskills Olympics.
The gold medal winners will take part in the 2006 national competition to be held in Melbourne. The winners in the national competition will then take part in the international competition held in Japan.
The Kangan Batman TAFE winners in their respective categories for the Statewide Worldskills Olympics are:
Software Applications
- Gold: Fernando Gamero
- Silver: Rebecca Blackburn
- Bronze: Romeal Zoomalan
Web Design
- Gold: Camilo Gomez
- Silver: Amanda Gronbeck
- Bronze: Muhamad Shahzad
PC Support
- Gold: Shaun Clarke
- Bronze: Rohan Brown
IT Programming
- Bronze: Brendan Attard
These wins come as no surprise, since Kangan Batman TAFE's IT & M department have consistently churned out award winning students.
Kangan Batman TAFE's IT & M students represented Australia in the last two international Worldskills competitions, held in Barcelona and Helsinki.
