Be brave and shave
7 March 2007
Kangan Batman TAFE continues its support in 2007, of the 'World's Greatest Shave', to raise funds for the Leukaemia Foundation.
VCAL students in conjunction with KITSA are fundraising for the Leukaemia Foundation and are hosting an action packed event on Wednesday March 14, at the Broadmeadows Campus of Kangan Batman TAFE.
NOVA FM will broadcast live and there will be great prizes and giveaways as well as entertainment including live music, a dancing competition and sumo wrestling. Not to mention everyone who is coming along to have their hair shaved off or coloured.
Kangan Batman TAFE has a fantastic track record of supporting this event and is hoping that this year will be the best yet. Funds can be raised by encouraging people to sponsor you to colour or shave your hair and donations can be made on the day at the event.
VCAL teacher Jane Davey has been involved in the event for a number of years and says it is one fundraiser that students always enthusiastically support.
"We originally started supporting 'The World's Greatest Shave' after I was diagnosed with cancer a few years ago. The money raised from this event goes to a very worthy cause and it is always generously supported by Kangan Batman TAFE staff and students," Jane said.
All money provides support and care for patients and families living with leukaemias, lymphomas, myeloma, and related blood disorders. The Leukaemia Foundation also funds vital research into treatments and cures.
Media are welcome to attend.
