Toyota Stretches Generosity to TAFE Students
20 July 2007
Automotive students at Kangan Batman TAFE's Richmond campus will greatly benefit with the donation of a stretch Camry from Toyota.
The unique vehicle was custom-built for the Melbourne 2006 Commonwealth Games, and was used to transport VIPs to and from the event.
Steven Findlay from Toyota will officially hand over the keys to Kangan Batman TAFE CEO Ray Griffiths on Wednesday 25 July 2007.
MEDIA ARE INVITED TO ATTEND.
Toyota has a long history of making donations to TAFE institutes like Kangan Batman TAFE. Over the past few years, over 200 V6 engines were donated to the TAFEs all over Australia. The stretch Camry is the second of two cars donated by the automotive manufacturer to Kangan Batman TAFE.
Stephen Green, Assistant Manager for the Automotive Diploma area, said the benefits for students are 'magnificent.'
'This Camry is state-of-the-art,' Mr Green said. 'It has the latest in automotive electronics, heads up displays, DVD players and a GPS device. Our students will be thrilled to learn their trade on a car like this.
The Camry will be used to teach certificate and Diploma in Automotive students in mechanical and automotive electrical subjects.
