Kangan Batman TAFE Wins Training Provider of the Year Award

Kangan Batman TAFE is officially Victoria's number one TAFE, after winning the prestigious Training Provider of the Year (Large) accolade in the 2007 Victorian Training Awards on Monday 20 August.
Minister for Skills, Education Services and Employment, Jacinta Allan, MP, presented the award to Kangan Batman TAFE's Board President, Dominic Andreacchio at Crown Palladium.
'Our efforts to become a highly performing public provider have been recognised, the values that see us provide such excellent service for our learners have been reinforced, and our philosophy of partnership with schools has been rewarded,' said Kangan Batman TAFE CEO, Ray Griffiths. 'This award is a true testament to our teaching and non-teaching staff who have contributed to the achievements in making our TAFE number one in the system.'
Kangan Batman TAFE, which has the majority of its campuses in the north-west and inner suburbs of Melbourne, is one of Victoria's largest stand-alone TAFE institutes.
Delivering Victoria's largest proportion of apprenticeships and traineeships, Kangan Batman TAFE has recently opened a world-class automotive training facility (the Automotive Centre of Excellence) at Docklands.

Kangan Batman TAFE also collected two other accolades, including the Outstanding Student of the Year (Vocational) award for Community Welfare graduate, Yeon Leslie, and the VET in Schools Excellence Award in conjunction with Whittlesea Secondary College.
Electrical apprentice, John Rist, narrowly missed out on the Outstanding Student of the Year (Apprentice) accolade, but was highly commended for reaching the finals in his category.
Kangan Batman TAFE automatically qualifies for the Australian Training Awards, to be held on 8 November 2007 in Tasmania.
Kangan Batman TAFE last won the Training Provider of the Year award in 2001.
