Kangan Batman TAFE students host Food, Wine and Travel Expo

16 September 2008

After three years of successful food and wine festivals, Kangan Batman TAFE's travel, tourism and hospitality students are taking this year's festival to a new level.

Along with a great cross-section of food and wine industry representatives, this year's student expo will also incorporate a European travel expo.

Guests can sample the delights of some of the region's leading wineries, while enjoying some fabulous food prepared by Kangan Batman TAFE's talented cookery students. There will also be music, dancing, and plenty of information for travellers.

Kangan Batman TAFE events teacher Lea Porcaro says this year's event is shaping up to be a real hit with festival-goers.

"The Kangan Batman TAFE Food and Wine Festival has been very successful over the past three years and is becoming more popular each year," Lea says.

"By combining it with the equally popular European Travel Expo, we believe this year will be our best yet. There will be something for everyone so come along and enjoy a fantastic day out."

The Kangan Batman TAFE Food, Wine and European Travel Expo will be held on Thursday October 23 at the Institute's Broadmeadows campus. The event will run from 4pm to 7pm, with entry $10 per head.

"We will have a door prize and tickets will be given out on arrival," Lea says, "and if guests bring four people or more to the event, they'll receive an extra 10 tickets into the draw.

"In the past, the expo has been really well supported by the surrounding communities. We hope everyone can join us on October 23, and look forward to some great participation and support for this fabulous event."
