Be dazzled, be charmed, and be drawn into the world of haute couture as Kangan Batman TAFE's Centre of Fashion @ Richmond hosts "Poetique" on Tuesday November 25, 2008.
This year's annual student fashion parade will be held in the stylish surrounds of BMW Edge in Federation Square - a location which reflects the cutting edge design and creativity which will be on show throughout the event.
Centre of Fashion manager Odile Higgins says the parade is always a highly successful event attracting well over 500 attendees.
"Each year, the parade has proven to be a wonderful opportunity to showcase our students' work and engage family members, industry representatives, sponsors and the greater community," she says.
"The night is the culmination of months of hard work reflecting each student's personal best on the catwalk. Driven by passion, each handcrafted garment is a creative display of elegance, delicate tones, flowing silks, chiffon, uniquely tailored apparel and funky street wear."
This year, the Centre of Fashion has produced some outstanding student results, with award wins in the Victorian competition for 'Do it with Denim Jeans for Genes Design Awards 2008' and the Wyndham Fashion Awards in the 'Recycle Wearable Art'.
One of Kangan Batman TAFE's leading fashion students was also given the opportunity to design and create a dress worn by Minister Jacinta Allan at the recent Victorian Training Awards.
