New fashion designs on show

Young Melbourne fashion designers will have the chance to feature their creations at a spectacular new event to be held in Melbourne in June.
Snowflake - A Winter Fashion Show will give budding designers the opportunity to showcase their designs on the catwalk and establish their name in the fashion industry.
More than 100 people are expected to witness the best student designs and the latest fashion expression from the class of 2009.
Fashion students and aspiring designers from high schools and TAFE colleges all over Melbourne and surrounding regional areas will be eligible to enter, with prizes awarded by a panel of industry judges based on set criteria.
The stunning event, featuring a winter theme, will be held on Wednesday June 10 from 7pm to 10pm at The Apartment in Little Bourke Street.
A number of categories will be showcased, including evening wear, leisure wear and corporate wear.
Snowflake - A Winter Fashion Show is being organised by Luminous Events, a team of second year event management students from Kangan Batman TAFE.
The event highlights the practical hands-on experience the hospitality, tourism and event management students will gain from their TAFE studies as they prepare to enter the event management industry.
The event has received valuable support and guidance from Kangan Batman TAFE's Centre of Fashion in Richmond.
Tickets are $20 including finger food and are available by contacting Kangan Batman TAFE on 9279 2414 between 8:30am and 4pm Monday to Friday.
