Recognising teaching excellence
8 July 2009
Teachers play a vital part in creating a learning community. The Hume City Council Teachers' Scholarships have been recognising and rewarding inspiring teachers in Hume since 2005.
The 2009 Hume City Council Teachers' Scholarships are open to any teacher or learning facilitator currently practising in Hume and fitting one of the scholarship categories specified on the nomination form.
The winning teacher from each of the six categories will win $4000.
The Hume City Council Teachers' Scholarships allow teachers to learn about new models, ideas and approaches to supporting learning, knowledge or skill development in Australia or overseas. This may include attending conferences and workshops, or working with an innovative project.
How to apply
You can nominate online at www.hume.vic.gov.au/teacherscholarships or print and submit the Teachers' Scholarships Nomination Form to the address specified on the form.
Nominations can be made by anyone, including colleagues and students. Self nominations are also permitted. The closing date for nominations is 1 August 2009.
Applications will be judged against the criteria detailed in the online and downloadable nomination forms. Three nominations from each category will be shortlisted in early August, and winners announced at the Teachers' Scholarships Award Night on Thursday September 3 at the Hume Global Learning Centre.
