Doors open at Centre of Fashion

13 August 2010

Prospective students can get a feel for what it's all about at Kangan Institute's Centre of Fashion this weekend at the annual open day.

The facility will throw open the doors on Sunday August 15 from 10am to 4pm.

Centre manager Odile Higgins says the day is a great opportunity for anyone thinking about a career in fashion, millinery or retail to find out more about the industry.

"On the day we will have teachers from all our study areas presenting talks and taking tours of the Centre of Fashion," she says.

"It really is an ideal introduction for new students. They can see first-hand the things we teach here and the leading-edge facilities at the centre."

The day will feature a fashion show, static displays of student designs, a millinery display and an opportunity to visit the new visual merchandising studio where current students will be working on various projects.

There's plenty of free parking available in the Cremorne Street student carpark and refreshments available on-site throughout the day.
