Leave home for the homeless
9 November 2010
'Leave Home for the Homeless' wants you to get off the couch and onto the grass to experience a fun filled inspirational fundraiser on Friday November 19 at the Broadmeadows Youth Centre.
Created by Kangan Institute Diploma of Events students as part of their assessment, the Leave Home for the Homeless event will raise funds for The Lighthouse Foundation.
The event is a movie fundraising night that will be screening the inspirational movie The Blind Side, a "tear-jerker, a heart-warmer and a crowd-pleaser all in one". (Mike Scott, Times-Picayune)
The students have selected this movie to help highlight youth homelessness and raise awareness about the support The Lighthouse Foundation provides to those affected.
The evening will feature great free entertainment for the whole family, including a balloon artist and music for those wanting to shake away those Friday night cobwebs. Food will be available to purchase for those with the movie munchies.
Event organisers say the evening is a good time for guests to remember that not everyone is so lucky to have a home to 'leave' for the night.
