Jobseekers
Who is eligible?
The Employment Centre at Kangan Batman TAFE provides free assistance to:
- eligible jobseekers from the local community (call Centrelink to see if you are eligible on 13 62 68)
- current students and recent graduates of Kangan Batman TAFE (graduates must have finished their course in the past 12 months).
Please note: All external jobseekers MUST have a valid Jobseeker ID number to be eligible to register for our services and apply for positions. It is preferred that students have a jobseeker ID number, if possible. A Jobseeker ID number can be obtained by registering with Centrelink or a local Job Network Member. Full time school students are eligible for a jobseeker number if they are applying for an apprenticeship or traineeship.
How does the service work?
Employers from a wide range of industries regularly contact us to lodge their employment vacancies. We also have a range of contacts with Group Training Companies and may be able to refer you to another agency where appropriate. Please regularly check our Job Vacancy Lists and contact us if anything interests you.
What other help can I get?
The Employment Centre also provides the following free services:
- Resume workshops and assistance with application letters
- Access to job searching tools (phone, fax, newspapers, online resources and postage)
- Advice on canvassing employers and telephone techniques
- 'How to' guides and resources (link to Section 6)
