VET at Kangan Batman TAFE

Why choose Kangan Batman TAFE?

All students who complete VET in Schools programs with Kangan Batman TAFE have access to a Guaranteed Pathway at the Institute.

Kangan Batman TAFE's VET programs:

Kangan Batman TAFE trainers are industry experienced with an in-depth knowledge of their specialist areas. Our training facilities feature up-to-date commercial equipment to ensure every student can train in an industry-standard environment.

Kangan Batman TAFE also provides scholarships to the highest achieving student in each field of study to help with further training costs while at the Institute.

Delivery options

School and Kangan Batman TAFE partnerships may work in the following ways:

Schools can negotiate with Kangan Batman TAFE to deliver components of the program, where the school can demonstrate access to suitable staffing and resources. Kangan Batman TAFE may also auspice the school to gather evidence for assessment or to conduct assessment of the components delivered by the school.

A school in partnership with Kangan Batman TAFE is not required to register as a Training Organisation, because any delivery by the school will be auspiced by Kangan Batman TAFE.

A school may arrange for Kangan Batman TAFE to deliver and assess the entire program.

Schools are responsible for enrolling their students with the VCAA and for entering student results on the Victorian Assessment Software System (VASS) according to VCE timelines.

Steps to apply for a VET program

  1. Select a program from the VET Courses page and complete the application form
  2. Contact the VET coordinator at your school to return your completed application form and confirm costs

Kangan Batman TAFE VET course requirements

  1. Absences: Students are required to notify their VET coordinator of non-attendance. Students must attend a minimum of 80 percent of a Kangan Batman TAFE VET program.
  2. Punctuality: Students are expected to arrive on time to all classes. Students who arrive more than 10 minutes after the class has started will be marked as late and their secondary schools will be notified. In some practical areas due to occupational health and safety you may be refused entry if late.
  3. Commitment forms: All students are required to complete a commitment form. This form is part of the enrolment process and outlines all student responsibilities including work requirements, behaviour and expectations. Commitment forms are to be completed on the first day of each course.
  4. Program costs: All VET programs offered through Kangan Batman TAFE incur fees. Program costs vary for each program. Kangan Batman TAFE invoices the secondary college directly for all programs and any student fees payable are set by the individual secondary colleges.
  5. Catch-up classes: Students may be required to attend catch-up classes after school and/or during school holidays.
  6. Code of Conduct: Students are expected to behave in a professional and courteous manner at all times, discipline procedures do apply.
  7. Withdrawal: Students who wish to withdraw from a Kangan Batman TAFE VET program will not be charged a fee if they withdraw within four weeks of the program commencement.

Please note that students who fail to abide by these course requirements may be withdrawn from the Kangan Batman TAFE VET program and will be charged for the full cost of the program.
