Current Activities

Kangan Institute is running a number or activities where a participant is placed with a host organisation. These placements include gardener, office administration support, library aide, childcare worker, kitchen hand, warehouse and distribution, retail, events support and many more.

Kangan Institute is currently running the following work experience activities:

KB's Cafe

Participants are involved in the daily running of the campus canteen in Essendon. Participants are required to assist with food preparation, cooking, customer service, cash handling, coffee making (using an industrial espresso machine) and more. Each participant also has the opportunity to complete the Food Handlers Certificate and further training in hospitality and barista.

Broadmeadows IT Design

This project is an IT activity which caters for jobseekers with all skill levels from beginner to advanced. It aims to provide marketing and promotional support to community, not-for-profit and charity organisations where participants create and design brochures, graphics, websites, letterheads and posters.
