AGENT'S REPRESENTATIVE COURSE
This course comprises three units taken from Certificate IV in Property Services (Real Estate) and is the mandatory training program for people who wish to be employed as Agents’ Representatives. Participants who successfully complete this course will receive a Statement of Attainment listing these nationally accredited units. Participants need to undertake further training if they wish to gain the full Certificate IV in Property Services (Real Estate).This course provides an understanding of how the industry operates and develops knowledge of the basic legal principles relating to property sales and property management, along with skills in the completion of various documents required for the sale and leasing of.

Learning outcomes
This course provides an understanding of how the industry operates and develops knowledge of the basic legal principles relating to property sales and property management, along with skills in the completion of various documents required for the sale and leasing of property. The program of the course will cover the following units; CPPDSM4080A - Work in the Real Estate Industry, CPPDSM4008A - Identify Legal & Ethical Requirements of Property Sales to Complete Agency Work and CPPDSM4007A - Identify Legal & Ethical Requirements of Property Management to Complete Agency Work.
Pre-requisite & eligibility requirements
To be eligible to be employed as an agent's representative, a person must meet a number of criteria as set out in Estate Agents Act 1980 -
* Be at least 18 years of age
* Have passed this course, i.e. Course in Property (Agents' Representatives)
* Have a registered address within Victoria (an address where "... all communications and notices may be addressed".)
A person is ineligible for employment as an agent's representative if he or she:
* Has, within the last ten years in Australia or elsewhere, been convicted or had found proven against him or her any offence involving fraud, dishonesty, drug trafficking or violence which was punishable by imprisonment for 3 months or more.
* Is an insolvent under administration. Insolvent under administration is defined to mean a person who is an undischarged bankrupt.
* Has been the cause of a claim allowed against the Estate Agents' Guarantee Fund.
* Is a 'represented person' under the Guardianship and Administration Act 1986. A represented person is an adult who has a guardian and/or administrator appointed by the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal to manage their affairs.
* Is subject to a declaration under the Act that he or she is ineligible to be an agent's representative. This relates to orders made as the result of a disciplinary hearing against an estate agent or agent's representative conducted by the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal.
* Is the subject of an order by any regulatory body in or outside Victoria disqualifying him or her from acting as an agent's representative or equivalent occupation under the jurisdiction of the regulatory body.
