Course overview
This course is designed for the car enthusiast who likes to keep their car neat and tidy or in show room condition so they can participate in car shows or show and shine events. The course is also perfect for those who are currently employed or who may wish to seek employment in the Automotive Industry detailing vehicles.

Learning outcomes
You will learn about the safe use and selection of cleaning and polishing products, the safe use of car detailing tools and equipment used to detail exterior painted surfaces, interior carpet and trim, engine bay, underbody and wheels and tyres.
Practical tasks you will learn include high pressure cleaning, denib buffing and polishing a painted surface, carpet and interior cleaning using wet vacuum systems, interior trim and seat cleaning, trim rejuvenation, engine bay pressure wash and degreasing, underbody pressure wash and degreasing and wheel and tyre rejuvenation.
Pre-requisite & eligibility requirements
There are no pre-requisites for this course, however, participants will need to be comfortable using power tools and equipment.
Participant requirements
Participants in this course are required to provide and wear safety clothing and footwear which will include long sleeve shirt and pants preferably overalls, and full cover closed shoe, preferably work boots or shoes.
Personal protective equipment such as eye and hearing protection will be supplied; however, participants may provide their own.
Additional information
Participants will not be allowed to bring their own vehicles into class to work on; however, when skills are at a level deemed by the teacher, participants may be allowed to bring certain body panels to class to work on.
Whilst the Docklands Campus is centrally located and has easy access to public transport including within walking distance to Southern Cross station, there is no parking at the campus.
Public parking is available within easy walking distance to the Docklands Campus. (see map on the web site)
What you receive at the completion of the course?
Participants will receive a Statement of Participation on successful completion of the course.
