Course overview

This course trains people in initial first aid procedures, enabling them to respond to life-threatening situations. The course needs to be completed every three years to keep your First Aid Certificate valid. It is a new nationally accredited course, suitable for personal or work purposes and delivered by engaging and expert trainers.

Learning outcomes

You will learn the knowledge and skills to carry out emergency first aid for some life threatening injuries and illnesses.
- Chain of survival
- Assessing the situation
- DRSABCD
- Performing CPR
- Care of the unconscious person
- Breathing Emergencies including choking and Asthma
- Shock, bleeding and wound care

No pre requisite

Participant requirements

Demonstration of practical skills, role plays, case studies and a written quiz . Competency based.

Additional information

Recertification: Current industry standard is for this course to be updated every 3 years with the CPR component being updated every 12 months.
