In this popular ‘hands on’ program participants will learn what is involved in the many facets of hospitality operations. Learn the art of coffee making, preparing cocktails, setting tables, serving beverages and what employers want. The program will highlight great hospitality career paths whilst giving you a fun, actioned-packed four days of training.

Learning outcomes
In this popular hands-on program, participants will learn what is involved in all facets of hospitality operations. It is ideal for people who want an edge when looking for work in the hospitality industry, either as a casual over summer, or full-time in one of Melbourne's many restaurants or bars.
Learn the art of coffee making, preparing cocktails, setting tables, serving beverages and what employers want. We will also highlight great hospitality career paths whilst giving you a fun, action-pack four days of training.
Course Content:
* Provide Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA: SITHFAB009A); Accredited by Liquor Licensing Victoria and a nationally recognised training unit
* Follow Workplace Hygiene Procedures (RSF: SITXOHS002A); Perfect for people starting out in the food industry and a requirement for all food and beverage staff, this introductory course gives you the basics of safe food handling.
* Barista Training; The first steps in becoming a barista; learn your way around the espresso machine, the art of texturing milk, extracting espresso and what's needed to start a career as a barista.
* Service of Food and Beverages: Take your first steps into the world of restaurant service; learn the art of setting tables in a five star environment, carrying four plates, docket writing, order taking and making cocktails. On your last day you will serve lunch to invited family and friends.
Participant requirements
Participants will receive a professional waiter's apron and all resources needed to complete the course.
Additional information
This program will be run over five exciting, fun filled days by experienced industry facilitators in Richards Restaurant at the Broadmeadows campus.
