This one-day refresher course can help key stakeholders understand their responsibilities and remain current. Learn some key strategies so that OH&S issues can be resolved quickly and effectively. Not only is the provision of training required by legislation for health and safety representatives, but it is the key to ensuring that when health and safety issues arise, they are resolved quickly and WorkSafe Approved.

Learning outcomes
This one-day refresher course can help various stakeholders understand their responsibilities and remain current. Learn some key strategies so that OH&S issues can be resolved quickly and effectively. Not only is the provision of training required by legislation for health and safety representatives, but it is the key to ensuring that when health and safety issues arise, they are resolved quickly.
This course is WorkSafe Approved and at the completion of the training, participants should be able to:
1. Understand and apply the legal framework for occupational health and safety.
2. Describe the roles and powers of the key workplace parties (not HSRs) in the OHS Act 2004.
3. Understand the representation role of HSRs and their legal powers and entitlements.
4. Understand the role and representative powers of a HSR to identity hazards and be involved in controlling risks at the workplace.
5. Represent members of a DWG and participate in workplace consultation, issue resolution and negotiation.
Pre-requisite & eligibility requirements
Participants should have already completed the Initial five day OH&S Course for Health and Safety Representatives.

Course costs include all materials, WorkSafe publications and catering.
Additional information
This WorkSafe approved course is designed for Representatives who have completed the Initial five day OH&S Course and is undertaken annually to provide an update of current roles and responsibilities.
Under the OHS Act 2004 Health and Safety Representatives are entitled to training. Upon request employers must allow HSRs and their deputies to attend an initial course in OH&S after their election and refresher training at least annually.
