VicRoads requires the completion of this course prior to applying to become a Licensed Vehicle Tester, or a person authorised to sign on behalf of the Licensed Vehicle Tester.
Learning outcomes:
VicRoads requires the completion of this course prior to applying to become a Licensed Vehicle Tester, or a person authorised to sign on behalf of the Licensed Vehicle Tester.
Note: This course is for mechanics that have completed the LV examiner course at Box Hill Institute of TAFE since July 2010. Students may pay a Total fee of $880.00 if they wish to supply the following books that were issued at Box Hill TAFE: Vicroad’s RS (vehicles) R 2009 and the VSIs folder.
Pre-requisite & eligibility requirements
- Be Able to understand and comprehend documents and assessments in the English language.
Note:- A licensed Tester must satisfy the requirements published in “New applicant conditions” on the VicRoads’ website including a national police check before VicRoads may accept them as a Licensed Vehicle Tester.
Who needs to do the Accreditation Course?
- - Companies wishing to apply to VicRoads for licensing as a LVT. Tester (Proprietor, director or nominee) must complete course.
- LVTs requiring re-accreditation, (notices sent by VicRoads)
- Other persons notified by VicRoads to complete the accreditation course.
(E.g. changes of directors, additional administration staff, persons wanting to apply to VicRoads to become an authorised signatory.).
Participant requirements
Note: Must be able to provide photo identification.
Additional information
The accreditation course conducted at Kangan Institute is of a 1-day duration (8 hrs).
The course covers the Administration requirements of a LVT.
Proprietors or directors of companies who do not actually inspect the vehicles are required to successfully complete the course (8hrs).
Note if you are going to apply to become a tester you must complete the administration within 6 months of applying to VicRoads to become a new tester.
