Course overview

This course is designed for those who wish to pursue a career in Human Resources management in a leadership role.

Full-time (day course):
This course is offered over six months in conjunction with an Advanced Diploma of Management (six months) as part of a full-time course. The full course spans two years incorporating underpinning Certificate IV in Human Resources in conjunction with a Certificate IV of Frontline Management (nine months) followed by a Diploma of Human Resources Management in conjunction with a Diploma of Management (nine months) and culminating with a dual Advanced Diploma.

Part-time (night course):
This course is offered two nights a week over 12 months, and is suited to people with 5–10 years industry experience who are looking to further their management skills, or who are looking to advance their career in that direction.

What employment opportunities will I have?

This course may lead to employment in Human Resources Management.

What skills will I have when I complete this course?

You will gain skills and knowledge which will enable you to set the strategic direction of HR activities within an organisation. You will be able to analyse, design and execute judgements using wide ranging technical, conceptual and managerial competencies.

What qualifications will I receive?

On successful completion of the course you will be awarded the Advanced Diploma of Management (Human Resources). As part of the Australian Qualifications Framework this program is nationally recognised.

What opportunities for further studies will I have?

Successful completion of the Advanced Diploma of Management along with previou Diploma of Management give direct entry into the final year of the Bachelor of Applied Management Studies delivered at Broadmeadows campus in partnership with the University off Ballarat.

Prerequisites do apply and you should posses a Diploma in HR or an approved equivalent qualification and / or vocational experience to successfully undertake the course.

All applicants will need to attend enrolment/interview process.

How long is the course?

Full-time: The course spans two years fulltime incorporating the underpinning Certificate IV of Human Resources and Diploma of Human Resources Management.

Part-time: The course spans 12 months part time dependant on the number of units undertaken per semester.

Where and how can I study?

Full-time: You will study at the Broadmeadows campus.

Part-time: You will study at the Essendon campus in the evening two nights per week.

How will I be assessed?

You will be assessed to show that you have achieved the skills and knowledge required by the course. Assessment may include written, oral or practical assessment methods. You will be advised in advance about the type of assessment and how it will operate. There is the opportunity for reassessment and appeal and you will be provided with this information.
