The Advanced Diploma of Remedial Massage (Myotherapy) qualification has been developed with guidance and input from industry members who work, consult and manage their own clinical practices. This course is a balance of both on and off-the job delivery and assessment.

The current materials fees for 2012 is $300.00. This includes texts, a Kangan Institute polo shirt and any other associated printing. There may be extra costs for reference books, protective clothing or specialised materials.
What employment opportunities will I have?
This course may lead to work in supervisory or management positions in multidisciplinary Health Clinics, sports medical teams, complimentary and alternative Health Clinics in all areas of rehabilitation and sports rehabilitation clinics or in private practice.
What skills will I have when I complete this course?
You will gain skills in analysis, diagnosis, design, planning, execution and evaluation to enable you to work effectively and administer treatment, according to the techniques and practices within a Myotherapy framework.
What qualifications will I receive?
On successful completion of the course you will receive the Advanced Diploma of Remedial Massage (Myotherapy). As part of the Australian Qualifications Framework, this course is nationally recognised.
What opportunities for further studies will I have?
You may be able to continue to study in areas of osteopathy, chiropractics, naturopathy, homeopathy and other natural medicine fields.
Can I apply?
You can apply for this course if you have successfully completed the Diploma of Remedial Massage.
How do I apply?
Applicants for the course starting in February 2012 must apply through VTAC at www.vtac.edu.au.
Direct entry applicants for 2012 must complete a profile form to be found at www.kangan.edu.au/departments/centre-for-better-living and return to the department by January 31st 2012.
Please note direct entry applications will be considered after the VTAC selection process is completed.
How will I be selected for this course?
Students who have completed the Diploma of Remedial Massage with Kangan Institute will have preference in selection. For all other applicants, selection is based upon the application form submitted to the department. It is advisable to follow up the application by making an appointment with the course coordinator to discuss your plans.
How long is the course?
This is a one-year course. Currently students attend classes for three full-days per week, including one morning for simulated workplace at the Student Clinic located on campus. Please note, this is subject to change.
Where and how can I study?
The course is held at the Richmond Campus. It is delivered primarily through classroom theory and practical lessons. The Simulated Workplace will be held at the Student Clinic on campus.
How will I be assessed?
You will be assessed to show that you have achieved the skills and knowledge required by the course. Assessment may include written, oral or practical assessment methods. You will be advised in advance about the type of assessment and how it will operate. There is the opportunity for reassessment and appeal and you will be provided with this information.
Additional comments
Students are required to massage and use dry needling techniques on other students and be massaged and have dry needling techniques performed on them by other students. As this forms part of the course assessment, students who are unable to give or receive massages or dry needling techniques will not be able to pass the course and therefore should not enrol.
