What employment opportunities will I have?

Rather than employment opportunities, this course sets you up to gain entry into Certificate II in Business, which in turn leads to job prospects in office administration and higher level courses.

What skills will I have when I complete this course?

You will gain skills in basic computing and communications, and preparation for work. Office safety procedures and environmental practices are also covered.

What qualifications will I receive?

On completion of the course you will be awarded the Certificate I in Business. As part of the Australian Qualifications Framework this program is nationally recognised.

What opportunities for further studies will I have?

This course leads to higher level studies at Certificate II level, which in turn leads to Certificate III in Business.

Can I apply?

This course requires you to have successfully completed year 10 before applying, or be of mature age with some work experience.

How will I be selected for this course?

All prospective students will need to contact the program coordinator and attend an induction session.

How long is the course?

The course runs for about six weeks full-time. Classes are run one day a week.

This course is also available part-time.

Where and how can I study?

This course is offered at the Indigenous Education Centre - Kangan Institute in Broadmeadows.

It is also offered online and has a mid-year entry.

How will I be assessed?

Assessment is ungraded and ongoing.

The course is run at the Indigenous Education Centre where Indigenous people are welcome in a comfortable and positive learning environment in which the Koori culture is respected and celebrated.

What will I study?

Students will learn how to use a personal computer. Students will also touch typing skills and how to use business resources.
