The is a foundation level course.

What employment opportunities will I have?
This course will inform students about work options and assist them to develop skills useful for work and further study.
What skills will I have when I complete this course?
You will gain skills in interpersonal communication, self confidence, independent travel, problem solving, numeracy and using computers and technology.
What qualifications will I receive?
On successful completion of the course you will be awarded the Certificate I in Transition Education. As part of the Australian Qualifications Framework this program is nationally recognised.
What opportunities for further studies will I have?
This course will lead to further study at Foundation level or higher AQF level courses.
Can I apply?
There are no set educational requirements however this is a course for people with a mild intellectual or learning disability.
You can apply if you are 16 years or older and wish to learn about work, study and leisure options and improve your life skills.

How will I be selected for this course?
By interview. Selection will be based on motivation and ability to study in an adult learning environment.
How long is the course?
1 year full-time or 2 or more years part-time.
A 6 month (July to December) transition to TAFE course is offered one day per week for school leavers. This course covers selected modules only.
Where and how can I study?
At the Broadmeadows campus.
How will I be assessed?
You will be assessed to show that you have achieved the skills and knowledge required by the course. Assessment may include written, oral or practical assessment methods in class or while on observation or excursions. You will be advised in advance about the type of assessment and how it will happen If needed, you can be reassessed and/or appeal your assessment.
What will I study?
Core subjects in planning, developing self confidence, travel, investigating options, community participation and using technology.
Electives in personal health, maths, recreation, computers, gardening and cooking.
