Course overview
This course builds on the Certificate I in Information Technology. It covers a variety of areas which include hardware, software, communication and multimedia. This is an all round qualification, a minimum into today's competitive marketplace. This course is offered fully on-line or flexibly at our Essendon Library and Learning Centre.

What employment opportunities will I have?
On the successful completion of this course you will have gained a wide range of computer skills. Many graduates find employment in small to medium businesses, warehousing, inventory control, retailing, customer service and offices.
What skills will I have when I complete this course?
You will gain intermediate to advanced skills in the following areas: using the internet, webpage design, understanding computer hardware, working and communicating in an IT environment and further word processing, spread-sheeting and database skills. This course will give the necessary IT skills necessary in the workplace.
What qualifications will I receive?
You will be awarded the Certificate II in Information Technology. As part of the Australian Qualifications Framework, this program is nationally recognised.
What opportunities for further studies will I have?
You will become eligible to apply for higher level courses, such as Certificate III in Information Technology, continuing on up to Advanced Diploma of Information Technology.

Anyone who has Certificate I in Information Technology or has basic computer operating system and internet skills can apply.

You will be interviewed in person or over the phone.
How long is the course?
Six to twelve months, depending on the number of hours you are able to study each week.
Where and how can I study?
For students with appropriate computer and internet setup you are able to work fully on-line from home with an option of visiting the Essendon Library and Learning centre.

For students outside Victoria a different fee structure applies, also available on request.
How will I be assessed?
A mixture of activities, quizzes and assessment will be used. This qualification requires you to show you are competent in all parts of the course.
