What employment opportunities will I have?

This course may lead you to work with an employer in panel beating or vehicle painting and eventually lead to running your own business in this area.

What skills will I have when I complete this course?

This course, combined with the appropriate workplace training, will enable you to become an accredited tradesperson in the automotive industry.

What qualifications will I receive?

On successful completion of the course you will be awarded the Certificate III in Automotive Vehicle Body. As part of the Australian Qualifications Framework this program is nationally recognised.

What opportunities for further studies will I have?

Credits may be available into related certificate IV or diploma courses.

Can I apply?

You are eligible to apply if you are aged 15 years or over and have an employer or have been offered an apprenticeship in the specific area of specialisation.

How do I apply?

New Apprentices/Trainees will first need to be employed and signed up to a “Contract of training” by an Australian Apprenticeship Centre (AAC), with Kangan Institute listed as the preferred provider . How will I be selected for this course?

Applicants must be currently employed as an apprentice or trainee in the respective field of specialisation.

How long is the course?

The program is run over three years, with 320 hours of classes a year.

Where and how can I study?

Block Release only. You attend TAFE for one week full time every 5-6 weeks.

How will I be assessed?

You will be assessed to show that you have achieved the skills and knowledge required by the course. Assessment may include written, oral or practical assessment methods. You will know in advance about the type of assessment and the how it will operate.

Additional comments

Applicants must be currently employed as an apprentice or trainee in the respective field of specialisation.

This course has a mid-year entry.
