The Certificate III in Business is designed to give you the office and computer skills you will need to work in an administrative role.
Full time students will have the opportunity to specialise in one of three areas - medical, legal or purchasing.
This course also has a mid-year intake.

What employment opportunities will I have?
This course will equip you with the required skills to work in the administration area of any business, such as administrative officer, receptionist, accounts payable and/or accounts receivable officer.
What skills will I have when I complete this course?
You will gain an intermediate level of office, administrative and technology skills as well as the skills in business procedures needed in a modern office. You will develop an understanding of enterprises, quality teams, customer service, word processing, computer applications and document presentation.
What qualifications will I receive?
When you successfully complete this course you will be awarded the Certificate III in Business.
This course is nationally recognised by the Australian Qualifications Framework.
What opportunities for further studies will I have?
You may continue on to full time study the Certificate IV in Business Administration or the Diploma of Business Administration.
You may continue on to part time study the Certificate IV in Business or the Diploma of Business.
Can I apply?
You can apply if you have basic office skills, and some experience in word processing and keyboarding skills. If you have completed Certificate II in Business you can undertake this course.

You will be interviewed by our teachers to assess your suitability for the course.
How long is the course?
Six months of full-time study. Twelve months for part-time study.
Where and how can I study?
Full-time day classes are held at the Broadmeadows Campus. Part-time day and evening classes are held at the Broadmeadows Campus.
How will I be assessed?
You will need to show that you have achieved the skills and knowledge required for the course. You will be assessed by written, oral or practical assessment methods. You will know in advance the type and dates of assessment . If needed, you will have the opportunity for reassessment.

What must you bring to enrolment?
- Letter confirming your offer of a place in the course
- Proof of Australian citizenship/residency (birth certificate, passport, medicare card or citizenship documents)
- Proof of age if under the age of 20 as at 1st of January, 2011 (birth certificate, driver licence, passport)
What will I study?
You must satisfactorily complete twelve (12) units of competency. (See the list of modules).
A separate list of competencies will be provided for part time evening students on enquiry or at enrolment.
