Course overview
This course is designed for those who want to improve their skills in protecting people through improved training, perception and bodyguard theory. Many of the Certificate II competencies are requiered for other Certificate III courses for licensing purposes. You need to have completed a Certificate II in Security Operations to apply.

What costs and other fees should I expect?
Costs for the course are individually assessed. Due to changes in government funding the course may be as low as $190. Books will also be required for study and these cost an additional $65 approx. What employment opportunities will I have?
This course may lead to employment in supervisory positions in guarding and crowd control, bodyguard assignments and work involving the protection of people of interest.
What skills will I have when I complete this course?
You will gain skills in developing and carrying out an operational plan for escorts and improve your skills for general security operations relating to the protection of people, self-defence and the defence of others. It will also improve your skills in general secutiy operations and frontline business management within a security context.
What qualifications will I receive?
On successful completion of the course you will be awarded the Certificate lll Security Operations Bodyguard. As part of the Australian Qualifications Framework this program is nationally recognised.
What opportunities for further studies will I have?
This course will lead to higher level studies at a higher level. Credit transfers may be available into Certificate IV Security Risk Management program and additional certificate lll courses in areas such as cash in transit, armed guard, control room/monitoring centre and more.
Can I apply?
There are no set prerequisites for this course. However it is recommended that you have satisfactory numeracy and literacy skills to undertake this course or are mature age and have sufficient work experience to successfully undertake the course.
OR
You may apply if you have satisfactorily completed VCE or an approved equivalent course and the satisfactory completion of the work requirements (eligibility to transfer); or are mature age and have sufficient work experience to successfully undertake the course. (Mature age is anyone over the age of 18 who has been out of full-time education for more than 12 months.)

How will I be selected for this course?
All applicants will need to complete the course satifactorily to achieve a certificate.
How long is the course?
The course spans nine days for those who have completed the Certificate II Crowd Control Unarmed Guard. For those that want to undertake the Cert III Bodyguard, will have to complete other units in the Certificate II Crowd Control Unarmed Guard.
You will study at the Broadmeadows campus. Building J Room J253 (Enrolments are also in this room).
Learning is a combination of practical exercise and theory, including self defence and an exercise in body guarding.

You will study at the Broadmeadows Campus 8.30am - 4.30pm.

How will I be assessed?
You will be assessed to show that you have achieved the skills and knowledge required by the course. Assessment may include written, oral or practical assessment methods. You will be advised in advance about the type of assessment and how it will operate. There is the opportunity for reassessment and appeal and you will be provided with this information.

This course will train you in Certifcate III Security Operations Bodyguard including Law, Operational Procedues, developing operational plans for escorts and conducting and operational escort.
