Our fast track course in Certificate IV in fitness is designed for a qualified fitness instructor wanting to move into the exciting world of personal training!
Our Certificate IV in Fitness is taught face-to-face by industry professionals with over 10 years experience. Our instructors foster interactive learning in a dynamic classroom environment. Theory classes are delivered in the classroom, and practical classes are set within a gymnasium.
For your convenience we deliver our Certificate IV in Fitness as a part-time one day or one night per week course at our Essendon campus. You can choose which best suits you.
This course attracts government funding for eligible students, or you can enrol as a fee for service student.

There are no additional costs for books, gym usage or outdoor activities. This is all included in the cost.
What employment opportunities will I have?
The fitness industry is growing rapidly. As a qualified Personal Trainer, your opportunities are endless.
You can work in a gym as a personal trainer or start your own fitness business, both are popular. Many of our students gain experience first by working in a gym or personal training studio and then subsequently venture out to establish their own business. The qualification will also give you the skills to deliver outdoor and group training; a popular form of training that has grown considerably in recent years and is in high demand.
What skills will I have when I complete this course?
Our comprehensive course will teach you skills so you can achieve Certificate IV in Fitness Certification.
Our course content includes: creating a successful fitness business, instructing in advanced resistance training, delivering indoor and outdoor training, advising in nutrition and weight loss, communcating effectively for success, and programming in exercise rehabilitation to improve strength and vitality.
The skills we teach you will support you in succeeding as a personal trainer.
What qualifications will I receive?
On successful completion of the course you will be awarded the Certificate IV in Fitness qualification. This course is recognised nationally and qualifies successful graduates to work interstate and some international countries.
What opportunities for further studies will I have?
Further study opportunities are available at university level. Students are encouraged to pursue opportunities to further their knowledge in the areas of exercise science and human movement. Students in the past have gained entry into university programs following successful completion of their fitness studies.

Once you have completed and passed the Certificate III in Fitness you may proceed directly into our Certificate IV in Fitness course. We have made this process simple for you.

How will I be selected for this course?
There are no set selection criteria for this course, however you must have completed the pre-requisite of Certificate III in Fitness. For learning purposes we try to keep class sizes to no more than 20 participants. These courses do fill quickly, so to avoid disappointment and ensure you can enter your preferred course start date, please click on the 'Apply Here' button now and start your application!
How long is the course?
The length of Certificate IV in Fitness depends on which of the 2 delivery modes you choose.
The first mode is our one day a week fast track day course. This course is delivered once a week over 15 consecutive weeks. Class times are 9.00am- 4.30pm.
Our second mode of delivery is our part-time, one night per week course delivered over 24 weeks. Class times are 5.30pm-9.30pm.

Where and how can I study?
This course is delivered face-to-face at our Essendon campus. This campuses have been selected for their convenience to gyms, public transport and secure car parking.
How will I be assessed?
We understand that some students get very nervous about exams, therefore assessments are usually modified to suit the learners needs. There are a variety of assessments throughout the course consisting of mainly class workbooks, presentations, short answer questions and external tasks and assessments.

1) Business of fitness
2) Nutrition and Weight Management
3) Assessing and Prescribing Exercise for health related issues
4) Advanced Resistance Training
All four areas will give you skills and confidence to become a successful personal trainer.
