Course overview
This course is designed for people seeking a career in hospitality, in particular, in a hotel or restaurant or in a supervisory role.
Ours is a small but dynamic department, offering students an individual approach to learning in a caring environment. Classes are a mix of practical activities and the theoretical course content, including industry familiarisations, excursions and on-site guest speakers, together with activities where students assist in the organisation and running of events.
Students are consistently engaged in hands-on learning. Part of the hands on activity will be working in the Virtual enterprise office where students will run a practice office two days a week, working in an online virtual environment. Some of the recent activities that have enhanced student's learning include:
- The Kangan Food and Wine festival
- The Winberri Music Festival
.- Special functions and lunches
- The Careers Conference
