This course is designed for those who wish to work in the human resources field.

Full-time day course.
Offered at the Broadmeadows campus.
This course is offered over 9 months in conjunction with a Certificate IV in Front line Management (9 months) as part of a full time course. The full course spans 2 years continuing into a Diploma of Human Resources Management in conjunction with a Diploma of Management (9 months) and culminating with an Advanced Diploma of Management - (Human Resource) in conjunction with an Advanced Diploma in Management. (6 months).

What employment opportunities will I have?

This course may lead to employment in human resources in small or large companies; in recruitment agencies or in positions that cover the recruitment and training of staff.

What skills will I have when I complete this course?

You will gain skills in human resource functions, recruitment, selection and induction of staff, maintaining staff employment records and the process of supporting performance management.

What qualifications will I receive?

On successful completion of the course you will be awarded the Certificate IV in Human Resources. As part of the Australian Qualifications Framework this program is nationally recognised.

What opportunities for further studies will I have?

This course will lead to higher level studies at Diploma of Human Resource Management level.

Can I apply?

There are no set prerequisite studies for this course. However it is recommended that you have satisfactory numeracy and literacy skills to undertake this course.

You may apply if you have satisfactorily completed VCE or an approved equivalent course and the satisfactory completion of the work requirements (eligibility to transfer); or are mature age and have sufficient work experience to successfully undertake the course. (Mature age is anyone over the age of 18 who has been out of full-time education for more than 12 months.)

How long is the course?

This is a nine month full-time course and forms part of the Advanced Diploma of Management - (Human Resources). (Full course takes 2 years). Eight units of competency must be successfully completed in order to obtain the Certificate IV qualification.

Where and how can I study?

You will study full time at the Broadmeadows campus.

How will I be assessed?

You will be assessed to show that you have achieved the skills and knowledge required by the course. Assessment may include written, oral or practical assessment methods. You will know in advance about the type of assessment and how it will operate. There is the opportunity for reassessment and appeal and you will be provided with this information.
