Course overview
This course is designed for individuals who wish to develop a career in marketing.
Full-time day course:
Offered at the Broadmeadows campus.
This course is offered over 9 months in conjunction with a Certificate IV of Frontline Management (9 months) as part of a full time course. The full course spans 2 years continuing into a Diploma of Marketing in conjunction with a Diploma of Management (9 months) and culminating with an Advanced Diploma in Marketing in conjunction with an Advanced Diploma of Management (6 months).
Although this course is offered as a dual qualification, students have the option of studying one stream or the other or both.

You will gain skills customer needs, profiling the market, conducting research and marketing activities as a qualified marketing practitioner.
What qualifications will I receive?
On successful completion of the course you will be awarded the Certificate IV in Marketing. (If done as part of the Dual Award program you will also receive a certificate for the other Qualification.) As part of the Australian Qualifications Framework this program is nationally recognised.
What opportunities for further studies will I have?
This course will lead to higher level studies at Diploma and Advanced Diploma of Marketing level. Credit transfers may be available into university courses.
Can I apply?
There are no set prerequisites for this course. You may apply if you have satisfactorily completed VCE or an approved equivalent course; or are mature age and have sufficient work experience to successfully undertake the course. (Mature age is anyone over the age of 18 who has been out of full-time education for more than 12 months.)
How do I apply?
This course is offered through VTAC; therefore full time applications for the course must lodge their applications using the VTAC Online Application. Details of the application process can be obtained through the VTAC website or through the VTAC Guide which is available from leading newsagents and libraries in July.

How will I be selected for this course?
All applicants will need to attend an interview/enrolment session.
How long is the course?
The course spans six to 12 months full-time and can also be undertaken on a part-time basis. Duration also depends on your level of previous experience and knowledge you have in this area.
Where and how can I study?
This course is offered at the Broadmeadows campus in classroom mode on a full- time basis during the day and a part-time basis during the evening.
How will I be assessed?
You will be assessed to show that you have achieved the skills and knowledge required by the course. Assessment may include written, oral or practical assessment methods. You will be advised in advance about the type of assessment and how it will operate. There is the opportunity for reassessment and appeal and you will be provided with this information.

* Proof of Australian citizenship/residency (birth certificate, passport or citizenship documents)
* Proof of age if under the age of 20 as at 1st of January, 2011 (birth certificate, driver licence, passport)
What will I study?
In order to successfully gain the qualification you will complete a minimum of 10 units of competency including 4 specific marketing units.
