What costs and other fees should I expect?
Under skills reform, each student will have to be assessed for eligibility during pre-enrolment, for students that are not eligible our course cost is competitive within the industry.
What employment opportunities will I have?
When you complete this course you will have the necessary qualifications to apply for a security business licence in the State of Victoria. Opportunities exist in the insurance industry and in management roles within security companies.
What skills will I have when I complete this course?
On completion of the course you will understand and be able to apply the technical and operational competencies required for work in the security risk management field.
What qualifications will I receive?
On successful completion of the course you will be awarded the Certificate IV in Security and Risk Management. As part of the Australian Qualifications Framework this program is nationally recognised. Certificate IV in Security and Risk Management is a qualification within the CPP07 training package.
What opportunities for further studies will I have?
Graduates may continue onto the Diploma of Security Management. (Kangan Institute can offer this diploma dependent on student numbers.)

How long is the course?
The course is part-time and will depend on what your time committments are and your eligibility for Skills Recognition (or recognition of prior learning).
This course can be completed at your own pace within six to 12 months.

How will I be assessed?
You will be assessed on the basis of the online coursework that you submit as well as in face-to-face assessment sessions and during workshops/classes. Assessment may include written, oral or practical assessment methods. You will be advised in advance about the type of assessment and the how it will operate. There is anopportunity for reassessment and appeal and you will be provided with information.
